Privacy at Print is Dead

What this website records when you visit, and why.

Last updated October 2026

The short version

You can read everything on this site without an account. We do not run advertising, we do not use advertising or social-media tracking pixels, and we do not sell information about visitors. Like almost every website, our hosting records basic technical information about each request.

What is recorded when you visit

When your browser requests a page, our hosting and content-delivery infrastructure records technical information about the request, which can include:

We use this information to deliver the site, keep it secure (for example, to detect and block automated abuse), and understand in aggregate which pages are read and how visitors find them. We do not use it to build profiles of individual readers or to target advertising, and we keep it only as long as we need it for those purposes.

The site is delivered through a content-delivery network, Cloudflare, which processes requests on our behalf and may set strictly necessary cookies for security purposes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set its own cookies and does not currently use a third-party analytics service. If we add one in future, we will update this page before doing so and describe what it collects.

If you email us

If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to read and, where appropriate, reply to your message, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Links to other sites

Our articles link to sources such as courts, standards bodies, libraries and publishers. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Your rights and questions

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask what information about you we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its use. To make a request or ask a question about privacy, write to contact@printisdeadblog.com, as described on the contact page. See also about Print is Dead.
